no prawn Mayo

I don’t know why I thought I’d like this as a vegan because this is NOT a sandwich id like as a non-vegan. It’s not Aldi’s fault this is a disgusting sandwich because prawn Mayo is just a disgusting sandwich filling…maybe someone out there would like it. Glad the vegan version exists though. And got to give 5 stars for originality

This no-prawn sandwich looks incredible, and the prawn pieces (seaweed based) have a remarkably realistic texture. I also liked the crunchy lettuce. I felt the Marie Rose sauce could have been a little sweeter and a little less acidic, for a better flavour. I also felt the protein content was a bit low at 8.7g per pack. However, I'm really impressed with the innovative idea and at £1.99 it was very reasonably priced too! The cardboard element of the packaging can be recycled, but you have to remove the film first.

This no prawn mayo sandwich from Aldi was a nice change from the typical “falafel and houmous” sandwiches that are so often seen in supermarkets. The ‘prawns’ were tasty and very realistic in texture. However, I felt like the salad could’ve been fresher and had more to it and the sauce could have had more flavours as well. It also lacked the ‘fishy’ flavour that I was hoping for. I was so happy to find this yummy sandwich in my local Aldi. It did not disappoint, the texture was great. There was so much filling and the sauce was lush too. It was just like I remember prawn sandwiches tasting!
