For those living in the Netherlands / Europe … what do you feed your cats???
We are hoping to adopt cats soon and we are currently looking into what the most (relatively) ethical cat food option would be, given that cats are obligate carnivores 🐈⬛ …this is our first time adopting animals since becoming vegan around 8 years ago, so we are a little out of our depth…!
Suggestions for brands / products welcome! Please and thank you 💛

vikas That’s a good question!1 likeReply
elisabettaveg In my experience (Italy) many brands produce in Thailand, so I try to look for food produced in Italy or in EU, where laws on animal welfare should be better. We also have a brand, Almo Nature, that donates its profits to projects to improve biodiversity, so I try to buy from them. But they produce partly in Europe and partly in Thailand, so I try to compromise between my two criteria. Then my cat also needs special renal food for her renal problems, so my choice is further limited by this. Hope this helps!2 likesReply
taz Thanks for this response. In the end we also opted for Almo Nature… it has been truly difficult having animal products in our house for the first time in many years…! The bittersweet price of having pets… saving one life at the expense of others. 1 likeReply
