Herbal Essence has a series of botanic/fruity theme shampoos with attractive packaging. The ‘Volume’ shampoo here comes with a lovely, intense aroma. However, it is just a little drying for my treated hair.

My latest experimental bake: Grain-free dark chocolate cake with sweet potato frosting. The primary ingredients were black beans and cocoa powder.

<Black bean cake mix>
• -Black beans: 1 can (15 oz)
• -Brown sugar: 2 tbsp
• -**flax eggs: see below
• -oil (I used rice bran oil): 2 tbsp
• -vanilla extract: 1 tbsp
• -lemon juice: 1 tsp
• -cocoa powder (dutch processed): 5 tbsp
• -almond flour: ~5 tbsp (or until batter is scoopable)
• -baking powder: 1 tsp
• -baking soda: 1 tsp
Blend to puree.
Bake.
Oil a 6-inch round pan.
Bake 170oC, ~25mins in airfryer. Let cake cool. Prepare frosting.
**Flax eggs (makes 4) :
-Flaxseed meal: 4 tbsp
-Water: 10 tbsp (~150mL)
Mix, let sit for ~5mins.
<Sweet potato frosting>
Blend to a smooth mixture:
-Cooked sweet potato: ~130g (I steamed mine)
-cocoa powder: 1.5 tbsp
-maple syrup: 1 tbsp
-coconut oil or rice bran oil: 1 tsp
-vanilla extract: 1/3 tsp
-salt: pinch
-oatmilk: ~7 tsp or until mix is “spreadable”
Spread frosting on cake.
Chill cake, serve cold!Reply
