Next Level founders, Matt and Cierra de Gruyter, took their big idea and risked everything to see it come to life. Cierra and Matt, a former Marine with a successful private equity career, had a comfortable life for their young family. But they were very uncomfortable with what they saw happening in the world — escalating climate change, a lack of healthy dining options and a fundamental problem with where people get their food — and they felt a clear urgency to do something about it. I used to love going to veggie grill a lot. This was one of their

salads


This salad has marinated kale, quinoa, red cabbage slaw, carrot, tomato-corn salsa, with ginger papaya

vinaigrette. I should have paid extra and got some additional toppings because this salad was boring and tasted very bland. It was a big portion and super healthy (what I wanted) but I really wasn’t excited by this at all. There was also giant chunks of the kale stem which you can’t really chew!


This is a hearty kale salad with good flavor. The salsa, dressing, and walnuts made

it very interesting (in a good way). The portion size has gotten smaller recently, though I still love this restaurant as it’s a good go-to restaurant if you’re looking for lots of vegan options, sonce it’s all vegan.


love that i can get balance vegan fast food with a kale salad in one

place! i really craved greens but unfortunately this lacked flavor and had basically no dressing.
