This is the healthier version of Bak Kut Teh (肉骨茶). Unlike the Singapore version which tends to be light and peppery, I found the Malaysian version to be more flavorful, with a herbal and sweeter taste. I like Idealite as they generally use natural ingredients eg. beancurd, tofu puffs, lettuce and a variety of mushrooms. I get this exclusively for the #tofu 🫘 The #couscous (or #millet, in hindsight) was a little dry though 🌾 There’s a huge bed of lettuce under the bowl and there was plenty of perfectly cooked vegetables 🥦 The #sesame sauce was great too though I wouldn’t put too much of it — It’s pretty flavoured 🥵 Love their #powerbowl options! #veganisnotscary

This is insane 😂 I uh, have reading comprehension issues so I thought this was a #szechuan fried #vermicelli with #mushrooms 🍄 Turns out it isn’t and it’s just a giant à la carte serving of #mushroom, corn, and #beancurd crisps 🤭 The #corn was a nice touch! It balanced out the #mala flavour out really well 🌽 Make sure there’s some in every bite! I ended up making do with this and some rice generously donated by @m1tch9i 🤗 It’s not the best & the profile is very one note, aside the corn. Perhaps more texture is needed? Something is lacking 🤷‍♀️ #veganisnotscary

I just checked the online menu and it’s no longer there 😭 You’ll have to #asktoveganize by having them #droptheegg 🐣 I love the combination of #hericiummushroom, #tofu and #blackfungus 🍄 It’s actually a perfect stand-in for the omnivorous version of this dish — vinegar pig #trotter 🐷 Not to get into details, but black fungus oddly makes a good immitation of the pig ears they sometimes throw into the original 🫥 Why would you eat that crueler version with this available? Idealite just blows every other food chain out of the water for me 👏 A #healthy eating one, no less! This plating was just creative 💯 The combination of #mapotofu and #noodles is one I don’t see nearly enough! It simply boggles me so because hello, how more perfect a combo can it be? 😵 Idealite’s #tofu, much like their #soymilk is nothing short of amazing and it definitely stood out here. You’ll find the #ramen littered with matchstick carrots 🥕 and cucumbers 🥒 and unfortunately the #evilweed 🙅‍♀️ They claim to use a #wholewheat ramen and you can definitely tell 😋 Bites are textured and a little more chewy than usual. There’s a slight oversight though 😮 The #mapo sauce they use does not mix very well or is just insufficient for the portion they give — 638kcal by the way! I’m hoping it’s a fluke and yours fares better, but keep that in mind when ordering! #penangvegan #veganisnotscary
