I chose this from the value menu where everything is less than $8, since there were too many good deals on this particular shopping trip where I spent more than planned. It really was a good value. It was fulfilling while also tasting good. There’s a couple patties and vegan cheeses that you can select. I selected the vegan Swiss and earth burger, which is made with sweet potato and a lot of other veggies. Although this burger was lacking some ingredients that I usually have in my burgers, like lettuce, tomato, and mayo, it was still tasty, and mentally, I didn’t feel that I was lacking nutrition because of all the extra veggies in the earth burger. #downtoearth #veganoahu #meatismurder #swiss #burger #cheeseburger #value

Listed ingredients are frozen Mango, Passion Mango Juice, Agave, Collagen Powder, Soloray Probiotics, Rice Milk, Coconut Tapioca Pudding, Coconut Cream, Coconut Wall. Of course I had to ask about the collagen powder and probiotics to be sure this was truly vegan, so I emailed them and they confirmed that it is, as well as the whole smoothie, so no modification was needed. The collagen powder is actually a collagen builder from Sun Warrior. This is a limited time offer that has been selling like hotcakes, a great example of how impactful marketing is, maybe even more then the product itself. It did have a mango sticky rice taste, but honestly, I’d rather have actual mango sticky rice, not in a form of a smoothie. It did taste good, but not worth the $12+ for me to get again. It took a couple weeks before I actually tried this out, since I was holding it off for not knowing whether it was vegan, but even then, as I approached the store, a lot of people were holding this in their hand walking out. As soon as I placed my order on the kiosk, they announced that my order was ready. This is the first time where I’ve seen Down to Earth sell so many of a certain flavored smoothie that they already pre-make a bunch. This is basically a mango coconut smoothie enhanced with clumps of tapioca, but I’m sure that this creative name (Mango Sticky Rice) is what is drawing such a big crowd. This consist of two Sunwarrior protein mixes, peanut butter, plant milk (I selected soy milk), and cacao powder. I’ve been learning a lot about protein lately because I joined a Big Loser competition a week ago with my coworkers. I need to work especially hard because I’m at a disadvantage for being at an ideal weight already, but I have room for improvement on body fat, which is why I joined. This means working out almost everyday to burn fat and build muscle, which requires extra protein. I learned that I need about 70 grams of protein a day, and at least 20 grams right after working out. This is a wake-up call for me because looking at the foods I eat every day, most of it only has between 0 to just a few grams, with only my Sunwarrior Collagen Builder being the most, at 14 grams of protein. My minimal daily intake of protein probably explains why in the past when I used to work out regularly at the gym, I would never feel any stronger, because I probably wasn’t really building any muscle (including when I wasn’t vegan yet). The ingredients in this Recovery Smoothie is similar ingredients to some of the smoothies I make, so that is why I chose this, to see how similar in taste it is. At about $12, it’s so much cheaper to make myself. This one had a little more banana flavor than my homemade one, but otherwise very similar and really good. Peanut butter has 8 g per serving. I got this at the hot-food bar. I usually stick to my favorites there, but decided to give this a try, since this was the first time seeing this. It was pretty good and fulfilling. Creamy mix of veggies, topped with a crispy filo crust. I love how Down to Earth not only has a lot of vegan options, but also clearly labels them when they arevegan. It’s a favorite among a lot of us vegan locals, and even non-vegans who enjoy healthy foods. They even have some good recipes on their website, some of them very similar to what they serve.

The famous avc shake a friend at the deli made and it became a extremely popular shake. It’s completely vegan made as a chocolate shake with almond milk, soy ice cream + almond butter!!! I added a little bit of plant based protein to set it off. A must try.
