Latke Duo. ( Potato Cakes ) Very good. Better than I anticipated. Two latke stacked high with fillings . First latke topped with carrot lox and cream cheese and the other with sauteed spinach and creamy pulled oyster mushrooms. R88.
I was looking forward to trying the potato latkes, but sadly I straight up did not enjoy them. The potato latkes were so oily, it made me nauseous. They should have at least placed them on a paper towel to absorb the excess oil. I also asked the restaurant to swap the mushroom topping for the carrot lox, but when I got to my place I saw they hadn’t done it, sigh 😔 8/90 #veganisnotscary
The latke duo is delicious, it's great that they give you two different flavours to try. The pulled mushroom latke is super tasty, but the lox latke is the best of the two. The carrot salmon at plushi has a better texture, but Conscious' "salmon" has better flavour.
This was super tasty. Two latkes (similar to rostis); one topped with sauteed spinach and creamy pulled oyster mushrooms and the other with cream cheese and carrot lox. The carrot lox was super delicious with a great smoky flavour that was perfectly complimented by the cream cheese. This dish was really really good.
The Latke (Potato Cake) Duo (R75) from The Conscious Kitchen in Observatory. Finding a place to have a vegan breakfast EARLY on a Sunday morning is tough. Hats off to The Conscious Kitchen for sorting a guy out. Two latkes (potato cakes). One with vegan cream cheese and smoked carrot lox, the other with sautéed spinach and creamy pulled oyster mushrooms. Of course, I am not a mushroom fan, so once again, the team at the Obs branch did a sneaky substitute for me, for which I was very grateful. I paired this with an Oat Milk Latte for a perfect start to my Sunday. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! #capetownveganmademedoit ☕️🍳🥔🥕
