Organic Watermelon Jerky

I'm not a huge fan of dried fruit, but I wanted to just try a piece of this watermelon jerky. I'm surprised you have much left when you dehydrate a watermelon, but they do create tough chips just like you'd expect from fruit leather/jerky. It was hard to eat and wasn't sweet enough for me to really enjoy. It definitely tastes like watermelon. Some pieces are kind of crispy and brittle but other pieces are more chewy. I didn't look at the ingredients when I grabbed it, so I thought there would be some seasonings since it's called jerky, but it's just dried watermelon.

Interesting product…it just sounded fun and whimsical, so I wanted to try it. It’s ok, the aftertaste of watermelon is the best part. I’d probably add this when hosting friends, just as a fun, quirky item to an appetizer spread…but, I’m not running back to buy this.

Would you look at this? Watermelon jerky! I hope they used all that watermelon juice for something, and didn’t just rinse it down the sink. These are really tasty, and super sweet as you can imagine. My only complaint is that there is a hoooole lot of bag compared to what’s inside.

So…this was both interesting and disappointing. It was just a little too “sticky icky” for me! 😬 The fruit or “jerky” was all stuck together and almost impossible to separate and eat. 🤷🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️ #blacktexanvegan
