Char Siew Bao

$8 These come out steaming hot in their big steaming basket. There was a decent amount of filling, and the buns were very soft, light and fluffy with sizeable, chewy chunks of ‘meat’ in there. It was tasty, but I’ve had a lot better pork buns with much more explosive five spice flavour. Originally, I ordered the ‘steamed silver thread buns’ with the young male waiter but then a middle aged lady came out 5 minutes later asking if I really wanted to order it because there’s nothing in it. I then asked what the ‘silver thread’ part meant then, and she just ignored the question and suggested I get the two char siew buns instead. So I did 🤷‍♀️ Bro came back 1 minute later hearing none of this and put some completely different fried bun dish in front of me. Had to apologise and explain the recent development to him 🤦‍♀️ Lol the communication between the wait staff and manager here is a bit… interesting.
