Vegan Arepa at Paparepas Venezuelan Food — sofihuasteca's Review (Feb 23, 2024)

I love #arepas but this was not my favorite. The arepas I am use to are fluffy and moist but the arepa itself was flat and dry, very crispy, almost like a tostada. This is labelled as #vegan on the menu which is nice to not have to substitude anything for a change.
This arepa is stuffed, really stuffed with an #impossiblemeat mix with mushrooms and a little spicy. It has good flavor but too much meat in my opinion. It also comes with crramy avocado but it was the store bought kind (you can taste it) and I saw the container in the back, which was dissapointing in my opinion. It also came with fried #plantain but it was really dry and mealy and not swert at all, seemed overcooked.
I added #blackbeans to mine as well.
They do also have a vegan arepa bowl option so there are a few goof options for vegans.
