They got all the yuan yang rice essentials down on pat - the rice, the chilli (theirs really had a kick which I personally appreciated), and the veggie combo. I’ve never tried non-vegan char siew before but went with my omni friend who said this one was on the sweeter side but that it wasn’t necessarily a bad thing, just comes down to preference. Generous portion which was worth the $6+ price tag, very affordable especially for this part of town. Would get again and interested to try their other offerings too!
鸳鸯饭 Featuring a combination of roasted yuba beancurd skin 'chicken' as well as charred smoky seitan 'char siew' (albeit with a rather strong mock meat aftertaste that I wasn't a fan of). 🍗🥓 The sesame rice was fragrant and not too oily. Came with cucumber sticks, plus achar-like pickled cabbage and carrot. 🥒🥬🥕 Served with a tasty bowl of clear soup too. 🍲 Overall nice though not particularly outstanding in my opinion, since similar chicken and/or char siew rice dishes are aplenty in Singapore; regardless this was a wallet-friendly option in town~ P.S. There's also Roasted Chicken Rice 烧鸡饭 (i.e. without the 'char siew') available at $5.50! (Allium-free, $6.80) #sgvegan #chinesefood #alliumfree
