Nutty Buah Keluak

Hmm i think this is just a food I’m not used to but i know people who LOVE this dish. I just decided to try w a friend cos we’ve never had it before so yeah. Maybe the acidity got to me but it’s ok haha

Vegan version of the nyonya dish. It’s very tasty and perfect to have with rice. It doesn’t look very appetizing because of the dark color, but the citrusy hint makes it very tasty,

I don't really know how to appreciate this dish, though I love the fried stuff with gravy! Gravy tasted a little sour yet flavorful. The nut on the other hand tasted weird to me. But my friend loves them and she ate them all haha. So I would say if you know how to appreciate this nut, I'm quite confident you'll love them! #vegan #buahkeluak

A recommendation from a friend. The flavour of the tamarind and buah Keluak (a nut from from which you have to scoop out the tangy flesh) came through so subtly. This Isa rare dish to find in a Vegetarian restaurant.
