Firstly,i really love the Indonesian style

#rendang and how sm simple add on of spice or ingredient really makes a huge difference in taste.

They use my uber favourite #lionmane mushroom,cut in generously sized portion.
Slightly more gravy then yr average local or malay style rendang but that works pretty well for me.

This is definitely one of my top 3 favourite dish frm Warong Ijo.
1) gulai fish
2) petai cabe ijo
3) lion mane rendang

Rich spicy coconut stew made using lion’s mane mushroom in lieu of soy meat! Always

love dishes made using whole foods instead of meat substitutes, especially given the cognitive benefits of lion's mane mushrooms. My non-veg father saw another table having this and insisted that it looked so good we had to order it haha. It was indeed his favourite dish of the meal! I did find it a little pricey considering the small serving though. Perhaps there could have been some potato cubes included in the rendang, or the rendang could have been topped with a few pieces of their housemade crackers, to make it more value-for-money and improve the presentation too. The rendang taste we know and love is really authentic in this dish, just that

texture wise it’s a bit runny compared to how it usually is. Love the use of lions mane mushroom in place of the traditional beef it’s cooked with - gives a nice bite and chew that you’d get from meat so you’re really not missing out!

Lion mane mushroom in a rich rendang sauce. Gravy was good and the lion mane

mushroom had a pull apart texture that helped to soak up the delicious sauce.

which would definitely go well with a bowl of white rice. It can be abit too oily and gelak for some though so really recommend to share this among a group of people. The lion mane mushrooms absorb the sauce well and was really juicy! Hands up to my favourite mushroom of all time!


This was a wow for both my friend and I! Spicy yet very flavorful. Lion

mane mushroom retained that firm texture. It’s a small portion but very satisfying to have.


Thought this Rendang tasted delicious. I could really taste the herbs used to make the

paste. The lions mane mushroom were great as well! A must order this if you enjoy Rendang.
Only downside is that I think it’s a little pricey...but that’s just my opinion.


Very expensive for the portion which was my only gripe about this dish, $15.90 for

a bowl a little larger than a rice bowl. The dish was super delicious and yummy though :( but it was really expensive
