Solid but unspectacular. Standard wannabe #lorbak slash meat roll 😅 Texture halfway to a sausage, but better than some of the more flagrantly #fakemeat approaches out there. They provide only sweet chilli sauce, not fresh chilli, upon request 😐 Perhaps RM15 for 5 slices is a bit "premium" for Sarawak?
Meats will roll 🍖 and be difficult to make glamorous for this review’s photo 😅 Growing up, I knew this as “ngoh hiang” 😊 I’d describe it as a savoury #fried meatloaf rolled into a sausage shape with bean curd skin 😋 The interior was as moist as you could ask for in a #meat roll 🙏 It’s not drippily juicy, just moist enough to support of bouncy soft bite 😝 The skin could’ve been fried a little crispier but not many places typically bother to accomplish that anyway 😶 Regardless, #sweetdreamsaremadeofgrease 🤪 Overall, the texture was good. However, the seasoning of the #mockmeat (intended to be #veganpork ) was on the sweeter side. Not that there’s anything wrong with that 👐 but I just come into my #meatless meat fix with a savoury explosion 😗 RM15.90 is A LOT to ask for this serving size, despite the respetable quality 🤨 I’d still recommend it but I ain’t too happy with this price tag 💸 #notworththefullprice
I had this again last night as I had this a few month ago when I was last in Kuching 🐈 It’s really to please the meat eaters on the table more than anything; Only my mom is courteous enough to eat vegetarian at least when I’m around 😇 The staff clarified the last time as well as last night that the vegetarian #lorbak is #eggfree and aside from not being able to taste any egg in it, that’s all we can work with really 🐣 It seems to be one of those manufactured products that they just cook and serve at a markup, but at least it’s a decent one! As far as #fakemeat goes, I like it and it’s definitely #omnivoreapproved too! Gosh, I haven’t used that tag in months have I 🙈 Life is great since I’ve only found myself surrounded by non-carnists! #veganisnotscary
