Spicy Moon is one of those restaurants that seems to show up on everyone's favorite NYC restaurants list if you ask. I made it my first stop after checking into the hotel this time! This East Village location is tiny! We went around 1:30pm and all the tables were full except for one two-top and the two seats at a bar looking out the window. Since we didn't have a reservation, the server had us sit at the window, which was perfect imo. I was happy to people watch and just look at the beautiful flowering trees of NYC! This dish has such a wide variety of veggies! I noticed, pea pods, broccoli, cauliflower, pepper, onion, potato, Chinese eggplant, and lotus root. I also saw two types of mushrooms; I think it was black fungus and shiitake. On top of all that, there's thinly sliced tofu that did a really good job of soaking up the delicious sauce! Unfortunately, this dish does not come with rice, so you need to add it on for $1.95 (or $2.95 for brown rice).
