Gluten-free beer battered banana flower, slaw, orange habanero, vegan chipotle aioli. It was really delicious
and reminiscent of a fish taco. Banana flower is a great fish alternative and it is fantastic in this dish!

These consisted of banana flower, slaw, orange habanero sauce, and coconut cream served with small
gem salad (gem lettuce, sesame dressing, pepitas, cilantro). This was our first encounter with banana flowers, and we were very impressed. They grow at the ends of banana fruit clusters, and their chunky, flaky texture makes them an ideal substitute for fish.
These are also a must when visiting Mestizo…. Along with the coconut ceviche and guac
that we ate too quickly to take any pics.
