La Pitahaya is known for their pink tortillas and they are used especially well here, contrasting with the dark mole and light toppings. The ambiance of the restaurant with its indoor outdoor setting, nice lighting, cleanliness and friendly, attentive wait staff made our experience delightful. It has a bit of a European cafe atmosphere mixed with iconic Mexican decor. We also ordered an array of tacos which were fun and creative. Loved this vegan spot in CDMX!
far. It’s handmade with metate, served over pink tortillas filled with Tabascan bananas and rice a la Mexicana. The bitterness of the mole paired with the sweetness of the bananas was absolutely incredible. Not too sweet, not too spicy, plus the Mexican style rice was an extra flavor depth that rounded out the dish nicely. Plus the tortillas make all the food look even more delicious and are perfect for photos. 😂 Have been dreaming about it since we ate it. 10/10
