Never tried the original one (I never heard of this plate before this holiday 🙈)

but I really enjoyed that a few places in Porto offer the vegan version!

When in Porto, try francesinha!

This is a delicious sandwich made vegan with seitan, eggplant and zucchini covered in melted cheese with a tomato-y sauce. Well seasoned and simply delicious!

Omg, I am obsessed with this dish!

It's so nice that vegan people don't miss out on traditional local food on holiday nowadays. Francesinha is the Portuguese version of French croque monsieur. 100% recommended!

Probably the best francesinha I’ve ever had.

The flavour is great, the sauce is of a great quantity, the cheese is very good and nicely melted. It’s a tiny bit more expensive than most Francesinhas I’ve had, but it’s also the best one so it’s understandable.

Bem recheada, sabor mais “artesanal”/caseiro.

Molho era diferente do habitual, mas bom. Servido com batata à parte e é possível pedir molho extra :)

Nunca he probado la Francesinha no vegana, pero mi pareja sí y dijo que esta

estaba incluso mejor. Muy recomendable.
