Nobody realises how much of your culture is robbed living away from home, and much

more so when going vegan 🌱 Visiting Kuching this frequently recently has been keeping me certainly a lot more sane, especially eating foods like this! This was #veganized per the menu on the last photo, but they still served a non-vegan tomato #sambal with anchovies 🤦‍♀️ Luckily however I could spot it before eating any of it! Photo number 5 by the way 🐟 They swapped it out for #bungakantan sambal instead which I much better prefer anyways 💁‍♀️ and swapped the chicken for #rendang #tempeh 😋 Oh, and the “rice” was keto-friendly! I actually love #cauliflowerrice quite a bit so that mixed with the tapioca leaves was heavenly 💕 Happy #ChineseNewYear to all that celebrate by the way too 🐯

It’s meals like these that remind you that there’s a whole world of omnivores missing

out #veganisnotscary 😋 I’m gonna say it. I think it looked better than “regular” nasi lemak 😏 Regular, sure.

First, I’d like to take a brief moment to appreciate the plating 🤓 it’s inherently Bornean 😉 Actually, take away the cutlery. Then, it’s picture perfect. It’s a wonderfully balanced meal. Who doesn’t love a little embellishment in their rice 🤪 this time it’s the sweetly earthy tapioca leaves 👌 The rendang tempe could’ve had a more interesting texture but the flavour BOOMS 💥 Last but certainly not least, the sambal was almost as sweet as it was spicy 🔥 I don’t have a high spice tolerance but I’m sure this was well-above average 😜

RM 13.50 seems expensive since I’m sure all the ingredients aren’t that costly. However, it’s a well-rounded meal that filled me up so why not #supportlocalbusiness 😅

This is one of the few places that serve outright #vegan food AND they have great local artwork and knick knacks too 👍
