When I went, this wasn’t on the Vegan menu, but when I asked about it,

they confirmed that it’s available. Both my friend and I got this and both agreed that this is fantastic and that the long wait was well worth it. Another benefit of the long wait is that the limited outdoor seating became available, which was great because the inside is always packed and really loud.

I believe that the taco filling is made with hibiscus flowers, since the taste and texture is similar to how I make mine. But other then that, one can never tell that this was made with flowers. I was especially impressed with the cheese., which tastes like cojita cheese. It’s so similar that I’m going to ask them next time what this is made of. I’ve been learning that some non vegan restaurants call some of their dishes vegan when it’s in fact not because they don’t truly know what vegan is.

The beans and rice that come with this are simple, pretty much like those served traditionally, except no lard.
