Gorditas

These remind me a lot of arepas, which I wasn't expecting but I enjoyed. You can choose between sweet potato, carnitas, Daring brad chicken, or chorizo. We ordered carnitas, but I have a hunch we actually got chicken. The "meat" in this is much lighter in color than the stuff in my enchiladas. It was still delicious and I didn't mind. This dish also felt very light, making it easy to eat on a hot day. It includes beans, serrano, lettuce, shiitake, and sour cream on top of your choice of protein. It felt like a lot of lettuce, which added to the lightness, but somewhat took away from flavor. I imagine the chorizo or sweet potato would be more flavorful options. I also recommend putting the side sauces to use! If you really like heat, go for the red sauce. I used the black and orange sauces.
