#gobimanchurian is a unique portmanteau dish that you find in most #indian restaurants across the world and is the quintessential dish of #indianchinese cuisine. Yes, there's such a cuisine category. Its believed to have been developed by the #chinese community of #kolkata during the times of the #britishraj The #gobi refers to cauliflower and the manchurian refers to Manchuria and hence is the result of applying Chinese cooking techniques to suit the Indian palate. There's a dry version and the one with the gravy. The dry one is one of the best to go with ice-cold beer. Having got the history lesson out of the way, this dish ticks off all the key elements. I prefer a spicier version than that was on offer.
