My best takeaway from Saute is their Vegan Orhluak. It’s a replacement of the oyster

omelette.
They uses ingredients such as Tofu, seaweed and straw mushrooms to make the taste almost similar to the real one.
I prefer it to be very crispy, hence, i will always indicate that i want it crispy😎.
Do note that the waiting time for this item will be about 15-20mins to ensure that the final product is well done.
This can be found at their outlets in Funan and City Square Mall.

The egg part of the dish with the chilli tasted quite convincing. It had the

gooey texture of non vegan orh luak, the oyster were replaced with mushrooms , which provided a juicy bouncy texture but not much oyster flavour. Overall, still a tasty dish which is slightly on the oilier side. If it wasn’t for the price I would get again

dish of my dreams 😭 I love this soooo much since turning vegan it’s been

so hard to get a dupe for orh luak (oyster omelette) and this was unparalleled!! they used konjak, tofu and mushrooms and was so flavourful and yummy! pls try everyone 10/10

edit: had it again and when paired with the chilli sauce it was exquisite...

Liked the crispness but lacked the chewy part that I love about orh luak~ should’ve

asked for less tofu and more flour~ chilli quite good~

but my fav orh luak will always be @ Loving Hut~~~

My fave dish from Saute! I have yet to find a better vegan orh luak!

The texture and taste is so amazing 😍💕

Awesome! The tofu-based "egg" looks so much like the real thing. Taste is great too!

Late to the game (nothing gamey, not to worry), half portion pictured. I sense #tofu

in abundance alongside flour for that crispy effect. Not a big fan when it comes to seasoning (heavy handed). Beware of glistening lips thereafter, #greasy much

Nothing beats this for originality - a dish that couldn't possibly be made vegan, somehow

veganised in a way that's quite intriguing and tasty. I love the textures of this dish, and how it comes close to simulating the mouth feel (口感) of real orh luak. The chilli that accompanies the dish really makes it all come together. #veganin2020

They used tofu instead of egg and used seaweed to imitate the oyster taste. They

used too little seaweed though. And the dish was inconsistent. Some parts of it had an oyster fragrance while other parts just tasted like tofu. Can’t really tell from the photo but the amount given was pretty generous.

If you love fried tau kwa, you'll probably love this, since that is what the

bulk of it is. I would say it's a nice substitute in terms of the oysters with the large amount of seaweed and straw mushrooms, but not as close in terms of the egg, having tried the vegetarian version.
