I FINALLY MANAGED TO CONVINCE MY FRIENDS TO ORDER THE #QUINOA ORH LUAK WITH ME

💪 The #orhluak was good as usual don’t even need to say liao their orh luak game damn stronk 💯 Just that for me their original is like normal normal only I hipster ma need add more charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and talent 🎉 The truffle also if you order three / four time become from damn shag sia to damn sad, see ya 👋😔 I love the crunchy texture or however you say the QQ of the grains with the slimy #egg texture of the dish. This is really one of the most #oysteromelette of all time 🙌

Vegan quinoa orh luak ($14.90) - go with chilli is the best! Dope combination of

chilli with the orh luak. Sister also approve this and we find the taste of this quite similar to the non vegan orh luak version.

the portions for this dish are super huge!! great for sharing, and interesting to try

this hawker dish that’s typically made with egg. the beancurd / tofu texture definitely feels like orh luak at times 😋 #crf

Had this Orhluak at Flavours By Saute. They have the vegan option (used tofu as

replacement). This can be found at their Saute San outlet as well.
10/10 as the taste is almost the same as the real oyster orhluak

i just remembered that i liked this pretty much but mine was just a bit

too oily? would get again! perhaps (just like the other dishes $$$..) #jaan

The vegan version of their best-selling orh luak dish, which is already vegetarian. So this

version is made without egg and with the addition of quinoa. You can get it without quinoa and try the original, sichuan mala or truffle flavours. I’ve never tried orh luak before, meatless or not, and I didn’t know it uses so much cornflour. It was a bit too deep fried and oily for my taste, and the gooey chewy thing is strange, maybe it’s some kind of gluten? I did like that they topped the dish with generous amounts mushrooms and coriander. The portion of the whole dish was pretty big, good for sharing. The orh luak itself is quite dry, so having the chili sauce on the side was great to add some more taste.

This is vegan “fried oyster”, in which oyster is replaced by mushroom and egg is

replaced by bean curd, topped with large brown quinoas. The chewy texture was just the same with real fried oysters! Furthermore it’s much less oily than the real ones in hawker centers. The saltiness was good, not so salty. The chili sauce was good for the accent.

What was once limited to the likes of chomp chomp and many more smoky hawker

offerings, have come to be available to us Vegans. This plate of mouthwatering ‘Orh Luak’ is simply amazing - we chose the vegan option, without the egg, which makes it even more challenging to replicate, or reinstate amongst those familiar with the taste. But sauté did it. They nailed it. Defo worth a try. Only qualms we had was the presentation - the sprinkled quinoa looked scary at first sight.

Finally had the chance to try the famous all time recommended Orh Luak, and vegan

at that! I didnt expect much, but was pleasantly surprised with the crispy edges that the dish had. I poured the chili on top, and... was hoping for more. Haha. I like how they added dried seaweed which differentiates it from the normal Orh Luak. I hope to eat this at the restaurant some day!

I've always been a fan of their vegan orh luak and wanted to give the

quinoa version a try! The tri-colour quinoa didn't actually add much to the flavour/texture apart from a slight crunch, but definitely had added nutrition haha. Would recommend the truffle flavour for those looking for a more unique fusion experience, otherwise the original vegan orh luak is a good old classic! ($14.90)
