There was a time in my omnivorous life where I was eating El Pollo Loco
weekly, always getting enough leftovers to bring for school lunch the next day. Even as I went vegetarian, I’d continue going and getting BRCs and tostada salads without meat. However, once I went vegan the options felt more and more limited and so I went less and less. How exciting it is to find out they’re now offering a vegan meat alternative! I appreciate that they explicitly have a vegan version of their burritos/tacos as opposed to having to order with omissions. It doesn’t taste as good as the flame-grilled chicken I remember there as a kid, but having the experience of going back is well worth it for me. Plus, their avocado salsa is one of my favorite things, on this burrito and just in general.
