Disco Death Records is a new café/record store/photography developing studio that just opened up off Lyndale. It's an interesting concept and I've been in before to look at records. This time I was on a walk to the lake and stopped in for a warm drink. I was hoping they'd have some fun vegan options. One option looks really good: Hayl Satan. It listed Earl Grey, maple syrup, and horchata. I asked about it and was told it wasn't vegan because of the horchata. I inquired more because horchata is traditionally made with rice milk. They let me know that a little bit of condensed cows milk is added to the horchata for sweetness. I just went ahead with plain Earl Grey for $4.5, and they had some oat milk for me to add myself. This wasn't great Earl Grey, but did the job. Third Space just a bit down Lyndale has much better. I hope they add more vegan options to go along with the punk aesthetic! Seems a bit contradictory at the moment.
