The last time I saw a vegan shake at a restaurant was at the Big Island so I was excited to see that our local DtE has them too! Besides the one I had here, they also have Vanilla, Strawberry, Chocolate, and Peanut Butter, with a choice of Almond, Coconut or Soy milk. It was really thick and creamy, just like the dairy version I used to have long ago. Coconut and Macadamia are flavors that go great together. Be sure to specifically ask for vegan. Otherwise they'll use cow milk based ice cream instead of soy ice cream. The nice thing is that they don't charge extra for a vegan version like a lot of restaurant do when you want to substitute. The Guava Cheesecake was very satisfying too. I wouldn't advise having these two (shake and cheesecake) together, as they're both very rich. I actually saved the cheesecake for work the next day, and it was still very good. Can never tell it's non-dairy. I just wish there was a way they could package these things in non-plastic or at least recyclable plastic. Since the shakes are made-to-order, I'll need to check back and see if we can bring our own cups. I didn't have one on me at this visit, as I wasn't expecting to get a drink (the vegan shakes caught me by surprise!).
