$23 ‘Slow cooked chickpeas, cauliflower, sweet potato & potato. Brewed in a mix of mild spices & peanut butter. Served with brown-black rice. Plus kale or GF bread.’ The brown rice was a little dry, ditto with the kale. They weirdly brought this out before my starter was ready, so it lost a lot of heat waiting for the other dish. I sent it back to heat up again when my starter arrived but it came back still only lukewarm 😕 The kale was a little too raw and rough for my liking- it really needed to be steamed a little to soften it up. This doesn’t come with roti or any kind of flat bread to scoop it up, which is a crime because it does come with roti on the lunch menu and an Indian-style curry like this needs a flexible bread vessel, not toast which would have been the GF bread option for this. The cauliflower was undetectable, and the sweet potato was only a few tiny cubes. The chickpeas and white potato were abundant though, with the white potato being boiled and halved skin-on little salad potatoes. It had a very mild, kind of under-seasoned, almost bland flavour which improved a bit after I added more salt myself. As a white person, I can confidently say this is a white people’s curry 😆 They did warn us it was mild, lol! It’s ok, but you can get much tastier, cheaper, and more authentic curries anywhere else along Enmore road so go there instead of here if you want a real flavourful curry experience.
