On our first vegan trip to Disneyland these were top of the list. Smoky Fieldroast

was the perfect flavor. So stoked to be able to eat here again!

A replacement for it’s vegetarian portobello philly, this menu slot has gone fully plant-based. It seems to be the Field Roast Frankfurter (though not branded so I can’t be sure), topped with well-cooked and griddled peppers, mushrooms, and squished within a bun that feels like a piece of toasted sourdough molded around the “dog.”

Accompanied by perfectly fried “Fimstrip fries” that are essentially the love child of potato chips and steak fries, made for a wonderfully decadent surprise at California Adventure.

Topped off with a vegan crema that added just the right amount of contrasting flavor and texture, it shows that the multitude of surveys that I have filled out over the years begging for more vegan options did not fall on deaf ears (yes, I did just take credit for changing the entire Disney culinary program. From many voices we are one).

This basic yet creative, pleasant combination of crispness and softness of the bun, well-prepared peppers and mushrooms, and flavorful dog and crema, left me skipping down towards the Philharmonic show giddy like a child on their first visit to the park.
