This restaurant can be found in the old Town area of Takayama and is run by three sweet elderly women. This set came with a few different types of tofu, the star being the giant hunk of deep fryed tofu on the bottom right. The top right was a sweet tofu option. It was really interesting to try the different textures, flavours and temperatures of the different tofu (chilled, room temp, hot) and it is awesome that all the tofu is locally made in Takayama. If you are like me and struggling to make your daily protein requirements while travelling in Japan, I would highly recommend. I was not expecting to find so many plant based options in a less popular tourist city in the Japanese Alps, but I was very pleasantly surprised! Note that some of their tofu sets DO include non vegan ingredients, so be sure to clarify and ask for options are vegan (there were 3 I believe).
