I like small farm-to-table cafe named Afterglow By Anglow as it supports local farms and

food artisans.
I eat there peacefully as it offers plenty of raw food options and desserts along with burgers, pasta, soups, salads and rice dishes.
The menu indicates allergens plus keto- and kid-friendly dishes.
The staff members can be pretty occupied as it has daily juice and meal delivery orders. It also hosts occasional food workshops. Mostly vegan besides honey in a couple of desserts. staff is willing to clarify if you need to ask more about the dishes.

Amazing cauliflower steak on a bed of sweet potato mash with roasted chickpeas and chimichurri.

This is a current special and I hope it finds a permanent place on the menu.

When I hear #cauliflower #steak I expect a nice patty made of cauliflower, maybe fried or roasted or generally made tastier. Not this 😬 I didn't try any of the sides so wait for Dafne's review, but I certainly wouldn't pay $24 for this

Alright alright then.. if @stevenneoh is going to redirect yous from his review to my

profile I might as well get off my laurel and review this 😛 Contrary to what his impression of the dish, I actually found it pretty swell! 😋 It’s by no means what I expected when I ordered a cauliflower “steak”, but on its own it’s a pretty good meal. That said I’m a little biased towards any vegetables that come in florets 🥦 They’re the superior texture for food and if you disagree your opinion is wrong 🤷‍♀️ The steak served atop a sweet potato mash and decorated with roasted pumpkin seeds, cherry tomatoes, and sorrel microgreens, glazed with a raw chimichurri sauce 🤤 Sure, it still adds up to what may some consider to be a #toohealthy meal but it was the perfect pick-me-up after all the drinks I had the night before 😉

I really took a chance by ordering this dish because as much as I love

cauliflower as a vegetable, if it’s not flavored and cooked well it sorta tastes…. bland and boring.

This was pleasantly surprising, it was described to be “savory” but I would say it was a mix of sweet and savory because of the sweet potato purée. I wish the cauliflower was more charred and there was a little more flavor, but aside from that it was a pleasant dish.

Good things first always, such generous portion of cauliflower ’steak’ which is just a roasted

version and not something made into a patty or something as one could guess with its’ name. Perfectly roasted and flavoured with sweet potato mash, roasted pumpkin seeds (again) topped with chimichurri sauce and more flavours n herbs. Way too big and this could also be sufficient for two. Great taste overall and totally loved the flavour.
The only concern is that it’s slightly expensive, costs $24 for this dish. This does taste great but I feel it’s a bit too much to pay $24 for it. May not be a try-again dish but definitely a try-at-least-once dish for sure!

essentially roasted cauliflower, toasted pumpkin seeds, topped with some chimichurri sauce and more herbs! sitting

on a bed of sweet potato mash too:D yum yum the cauliflower was on the softer side but the charred bits were nice and crisp. I loved the candied pumpkin seeds, such a good texture change and gave it so much flavour as well. the mash was alright though nothing special. and they weren’t very generous with the chimichurri sauce which is both good and bad bc it was slightly a bit too salty for me but it was the main flavouring agent. overall not bad but I think I prefer their burgers:p

I've never tried cauliflower steak before but this was really good! esp the sweet potato

puree, it was *chefs kiss*!! however it was expensive so i would not buy it often but its good for a special occasion or something. lastly, it would be good if there was a bit more protein. Overall, this dish was really tasty but a bit pricy. :)

Opt for this if you want a filling dish with something to slice into, and

different textures. Like that it feels largely clean! On a bed of sweet mashed potatoes and some seeds/nuts on the side and garnishing, this was pretty good 🙂
