Been a long time since I’ve had Violife, their products became pretty hard to find.
I’m not sure if I have even tried the #slices before but I remember liking their shreds.
They taste fine, it’s a very delicate #cheesy flavour. No weird notes or aftertaste to it at all. It would be nice to pair with whatever other #sandwich toppings you’d like, no worries about the cheesiness overpowering the other ingredients. Though I guess the cheesy flavour could be lost if you pair it with something really flavourful.
I enjoy the texture a lot! They melt easily and it doesn’t take a long time which is always appreciated. They turn nicely gooey, it does however not have that stringy cheese pull like dairy cheese does. The texture when it’s not melted is fine, it’s not the chalky starchy kind. I am just not the biggest fan of eating #cheese like this raw as they feel a little dry but it’s overall not bad when eaten like that either!
Their cheese is #coconut based, though I do not taste any coconut flavour. Contains added B12! It’s #palmoilfree, #nutfree, #soyfree and #glutenfree. The packaging is resealable and has no mention about recycling. Clearly vegan and I find the design pleasant.
💵~62 NOK at Spar. It’s expensive! Each pack contains 10 large-ish #cheeseslices.
I enjoyed it! I would love something with a bit more flavour so I’d like to try other flavours if I can find them, but it is something I find tasty enough to purchase again
