This is another #chocolate company that is trying to do better. The chocolate is grown on Madagascar and processed in Madagascar. They have zero middlemen between their farms and production. This helps eliminate the exploitation many cocoa farmers suffer, especially in West Africa. Farmers are able to keep a larger percentage of profits, and they're even expanding to Uganda.

My father, who is the chocolate connoisseur 🤣 thought this was great. It's only 63% cocoa, so on the lighter side and not as bitter. ( This would be great for baking!) The sea salt is sourced from the northern shores of Madagascar, and the roasted coca nibs give this a nice crunch. I found this bar at my local Fresh Thyme for $2.50, but they normally retail for $4.50. This bar is obviously #vegan but also certified #organic and #nongmo

It's super important to purchase chocolate from reputable sources. Studying Crisis Anthropology really educated me on the horrors other humans face in less advantaged parts of the world just so we can have things like chocolate, bananas and Coca-Cola. In West Africa cocoa farming has caused a massive amount of deforestation.🌿 I love finding companies that are taking steps to do better.

There's a NPO "Food Empowerment Project" dunno if you know them but they have a chocolate list for ethical chocolate and generally support people exploited by the food system (plus vegan Organisation - I wish we could donate to them with @abillion10 :))
