
I LOVE these. Unfortunately it took me a while to work that out and in the meantime my Sainsbury’s stopped stocking them.
The thing is, they have that slightly wobbly fatty texture that’s quite common in fake meat and is a very poor substitute when you’re craving chicken. So I ate them, thought “yeah that was okay” and forgot about them.
But actually for spare ribs the texture totally works because they ARE supposed to be a bit fatty and squeaky.
The sauce comes in a separate sachet to add half way through and it’s absolutely spot-on for the taste of Chinese spare ribs.
I’ll be going out of my way to look for them from now on.
