I start with some horrible news 😔 Kind Kones 1MK is shutting down permanently and yesterday was their last day 😥 We are now down to just one branch, the ever-popular BV one. This #chocolate #chai #icecream is a tremendous illustration of why that's a shame. Chocolatey #chocoholic, rich, creamy, proudly vegan, what's not to like? 😌 This might just be my favourite Kind Kones flavour yet, so glad for their seasonal specials! Perhaps because the use of #cashewmilk helped to hush the unwanted tones of #coconut, and also because of the incredible cocktail of punchy ingredients - #cardamom, #cinnamon, #cocoa, #seasalt, and #ashwagandha whatever that is 😋😋😂 I still messed around and threw lots of random stuff in, but that's just me 🙈 #sweettooth was elated

Not what I expected when I saw crisp, but the crumbly and powdery texture was pleasant nevertheless. The #almond made its presence felt, and the way the #cookie disintegrated in the mouth permitted a quick release of flavour 😋 Good value at RM6, I used it as a base for a more decadent ice-cream bowl (final picture) 😉

This #icecream has got #coffee and #chocolatefudge, two things that I love, but it's also got #coconutmilk alongside the #cashewmilk 😔 It's that familiar Kind Kones palate that I wish I were more able to appreciate, but no, #ruinedbycoconut 😥

The product name is a mouthful, the actual #blissball less so 😛 Don't know why it gets the #superfood billing, but it certainly tastes #toohealthy, and is certainly #ruinedbycoconut (thought you'd seen the last of that hashtag didn't you 😏) Why can't you leave well enough alone and let #coffeelover tastebuds just enjoy their #espresso in peace 😭

I usually complain about the heavy coconut touch that Kind Kones applies to their #icecream, but this was really one of the happy exceptions ☺️ The #pecan (theme!) #praline was creamy and flavourful, and an excellent complement to a cake or biscuit 😉 #sweettooth was happy for sure This would have cost RM45, but I had a 35% discount code for Grab self pickup. Kind Kones is still made in Singapore and then shipped over, so nowhere near price-competitive with the true home brands 😏

I previously reviewed something by the name of "sweet potato #pecan pie" (that too, at a different branch), so this constitutes a totally legit #abillionhacks number 🤪 I think I liked it more back then, with especial compliments for the buttery crust. On this occasion I felt the desiccated #coconut in my teeth, which I don't particularly like 😔 Not on a #pie and not anywhere. P.S. I like the plate even more. Both were gifts from the same person 😄

That's the view from my bathtub this morning! ☺️ So allow me to take the piss and make the view the review 😛 Kind Kones is great, but unfortunately their #cookies aren't one of their better offerings. Not even the #chocolate one for this #chocoholic 😐 I complained about the plastic sachet, but then that probably helped me get it from KL to wherever I am right now 😉 Any guesses? 😛

The ice cream was really good! There is bits of cookie dough as well as chocolate chips that make the ice cream very crunchy.

The distinctive colour of this #icecream comes from the use of #butterflypea, and there's some interesting texture on account of the #matcha cake bits 😀 For RM45 you're paying a bit for the novelty I guess 😏 It uses a combination of #coconutmilk, #cashewmilk, and #almondmilk, and unfortunately for me the taste of the former was just too domineering 😩 I had it with a Simply Serene brownie (next review up in my feed 😉), and the combination was in its own way redemptive.

The product label in the display case says bestseller, and you can see why 🥰 This is an elegant #cake where deep #espresso notes meet the merry lightness of the #vegancream 😋 There are little pieces of #almond and #cashew, and the #maplesyrup provides a satisfying, caramel-like finish 😋 To seal the deal, the #coconutmilk cannot be seen, smelled, tasted, or intuited 🤗🙌🎉🎊 Even as a RM17.90 splurge, what's not to like? (Raspberries were my own 😛)

🤮🤮 #ruinedbycoconut I love what Kind Kones stands for as a brand and I love how creative they are with their flavours 👍 But I cannot love #coconut, not in my sweets 😥 I'm usually very judicious with KK, checking for enough counterbalancing flavours. This simplistic approach of "larger number of ingredients = less pronounced coconut taste" betrayed me this time 😔 For though this had firm notes of #cinnamon, #clove, #pistachio, and #nutmeg, supplemented with gentler #citrus touches, I tasted only the #coconutmilk in the base. They don't even use it in real #baklava, why here? 😒 And yeah, putting #filo pastry into something as moist as an #icecream just makes it soggy and chewy. That didn't work either 😐

I have a love-hate relationship with Kind Kones, where the hate is down only to their insistence on ruining just about everything through the use of coconut 😖 So when I realised that not all their #blissballs were infected in this way, my curiosity was sufficiently piqued that I took the punt and handed over RM6 (!!!) for the one that screamed #berrylover 😉 It paid off 😊 Deliciously moist texture, with both the #cranberry and the #fig bringing acidity and sweetness. The #chia contributed a light crunch to top things off beautifully 😋 They could have used a paper rather than plastic sachet though 😕 And, on the topic of presentation, I did have a pop at them for displaying the various flavours in such proximity to one another. Lest the clean ones come into contact with those coconut droppings 😒
