My whole life I grew up eating at this place and never have I ever ventured into the vegetarian corner. Having brought my vegan and vegetarian friends, this seemed to be a popular choice 🧐 Despite knowing what I already knew, I was still pleasantly surprised. It still had most of the flavours you’d look for in a dry fried kueh tiaw dish 😋👏 Omnivores may find it lacking in comparison though… for the lack of egg. Also, just wanted to point out that this dish typically has bean sprouts in it as well (not that I don’t eat them, it’s simply something I don’t want IN my kueh tiaw). I requested they omit it along with the egg (as the dishes available aren’t geared towards vegans specifically) So those making a stop and try, do make sure to specify very clearly. It was perfectly salted for my undemanding palet. Therefore, this may be a little under seasoned for most of you regular ones 😅😉 There’s not much chilli, which is great for me but I can see most people I know would certainly want a little more For RM5.30 a plate, I was very pleased with the distribution of kueh tiaw, cabbage, onion, chai sim (vegetable heart), carrots and chilli. #portioncontrol Simple but delicious. Unless you’re one for stronger flavours, it’s worth a try 😇😉

Oh the way I’m nostalgic for this kind of soggy fried #kuehteow prior to being spoiled by the lot of much more amazing #charkwayteow of Penang 😋 In spite of the menu clearly stating that their vegetarian dishes are cooked without eggs, having been burnt once, I’d advise you dance the whole #veganize a dish dance regardless 👩‍🍳 This was alright, perfectly seasoned and chunky. Not a bit of #fakemeat in sight and not even any #tofu! Frankly I sometimes prefer that 😌 This dish is a great #abillionhacks candidate fwiw as you get to pick between the choice of bee hoon, kueh teow, or “noodle” noodles 🤓 “Noodle” noodles being yellow mee of course, or as we in Sarawak call it, normal noodles~
