My absolute favorite thing to eat at the hawker center!! Full of flavor and so
healthy, and only $6. It would be my go-to even if I weren't vegan. You can get the thunder tea broth on the side or get it just as paste. 100/10 would recommend
Delicious thunder tea (brown) rice (the broth is made with mint and basil giving it
a unique taste) at #livingwholesomevegetarian #vegan #thundertearice #擂茶饭
Super tasty & flavourful as always :’) Loveee their unique thunder tea paste that isn’t
grassy as all!! #bestpicks #sgeats #chinese #hakka
Was really happy to discover this thunder tea rice at Bukit Timah Food Centre! It
is good quality and tasty 🌱 I like thunder tea rice as it is nutritious, flavorful and non-greasy.
Another place to add to my fave thunder tea rice hunts in Singapore. #thundertearice #veganisnotscary
Down with side effects of the second dose of covid vaccine n this Thunder Tea
Brown Rice Set just lifted my mood well.
Had no appetite but ate well.
Loads of veggies.
Light, filling, guiltfree.
Thank you @opheeeliaaa for introducing me to TTR.
Loved by all at home.
Ordered large at S$ 11.30.
Worth every bit.
This is my go to for my Thunder tea rice (lei cha) cravings. I've tried
both the brown rice set ($6) and bee hoon set ($5). My preference is the brown rice. Most of the vegetables are boiled with hot water and lightly seasoned with minimal oil (yay!). You'll be given a good portion of the vegetables, tau kuah, chai poh and peanuts. The 'cha' soup is a fragrant broth without being too overpowering and it's creamy smooth. Some 'cha' soup still contain gritty bits that can cause you to choke on the food. Be ready to queue for the lei cha and enjoy the cooking 'show' by the young stall owner grooving to rock/pop/heavy metal music playing at the background.
as usual my favourite lei cha stall never lets me down!! this place uses less
oil, less salt and no msg at all, which adds on to the health and nutrition value on top of all the veggies which are boiled (helps retain more nutritional value instead of frying off all the vitamins and minerals) the broth/paste is the best in sg in my opinion as it’s just really well balanced (but do ask them to add less water to it as they might accidentally dilute it a bit more sometimes) in addition to this, the uncle who was serving the food is constantly dancing and singing along to songs and there’s a really groovy positive vibe that makes you really feel how much he’s enjoying serving you ,, and all this for just $6! on the side i also ordered a piece of tau kwa (60cents) from a nearby hawker stall for extra protein (but u can always add on tofu or any veggies at the lei cha stall for $1 i think)
Healthy dish with generous amounts of veggie, tofu and peanuts. Love the tasty preserved radish
and winged bean in the mix. The thunder tea is not too strong-tasting, suitable for those new to this hakka dish :)
I was introduced to this stall by a friend. I love how healthy and yet
so delicious their food is. The brown rice is not too chewy and veggies are crunchy. 5🌟
