Huh what? I'm confused, what's so climate about this platter of #sushi 🤨 The menu claims they're trying to raise awareness about climate change issues, but it's hard to see what about this dish is actually so climate-friendly. Zero-kilometre ingredients? Rice taken from farms that capture ag methane? This is climate washing otherwise... It wasn't bad at all, in fact the #crispy #seaweed outer layer and the copious amount of #veganmayo dovetailed spectacularly well, and I also liked the mix of vegetables that they used. The #wasabi could use some work though. Hardly any kick, and atrocious texture reminiscent of coconut chutney (nothing wrong with that in its own right, but wasabi is wasabi eh) 🥲
I did not know that “climate maki” was named to raise awareness for #climatechange 🔥 Every #japanese themed vegan restaurant in #penang has this on their menu! Not original at this rate, but it’s still great #vegansushi nonetheless 🤗 My favourite #sushi pre-vegan was also #deepfried and this gets me my fix 😇 #penangvegan #veganisnotscary
