Great #agavesyrup! My dad bought it for me to put in my baking, and it was really good - it had a nice sweetness without any strong flavour. I had a little bit on my porridge too which was lovely.

NOMO

This was a little pricey during Easter but I found it in Coop recently for a good value. The inside didn’t taste like cookie dough but wasn’t unpleasant, and the chocolate was pretty good, as always with NOMO.

This was pretty good. A nice sweet snack and the marshmallows were tasty. GRO products tend to be either really good or really bad, and this one was on good side :)

Fried St. George’s mushroom and wild garlic hummus on toast

I made some wild garlic hummus last year and thought I’d give it another go! The flavour went really well with the mushrooms - it’s a classic spring combo! It more

Foraging!
Over the past year I have really got into foraging and armed with my knowledge on common UK plants and fungi I went out today for a forage! This is my haul, from left to right:

- Wild garlic leaves
- Wild garlic more

alistar And be careful of ticks! I stupidly was only wearing ankle socks in my high Wellington boots and think I got three tick bites from creatures falling into the boots. Argh. Now I have to do three weeks of antibiotics. Doofus. 2 likesReply
vegpledge Omg! Thanks for the reminder I always forget how prevalent they are around this time of year. I hope you’re doing ok! 1 likeReply
alistar Thank you! Swelling, itching, and burning are going down now thanks. I’ll be a bit nervous to go back in the woods I think. 😬1 likeReply
ahimsalivingwellness Wow, I didn’t actually realise that there are ticks in the U.K.! I would see various types of them (deer ticks, dog ticks, etc.) all of the time in New York (where I grew up foraging in local woods), and learned early in life to “dress accordingly” (from head to toe) in order to avoid becoming hosts for the pesky little parasites—which often carry Lyme disease. The way some of them (especially deer ticks) latch onto the skin is utterly horrific, and there is literally no humane way to remove them once they have become affixed. 😔1 likeReply
ahimsalivingwellness Absolutely thrilled to find this fabulous post in my feed! 😻😻😻
My partner and I are huge foraging enthusiasts, and make many of our artisanal products &!dishes for cafe/pop up dining events with wild harvested ingredients (our last dining event featured a wild & seasonal tasting menu). Just a few days ago he came back from a local woodland site with kilos upon kilos of wild garlic leaves/flowers, and yesterday i went out and harvested loads of nettles, hedge mustard, and cleaver to use in my own wild greens pesto. I also managed to score some grape leaves for wrapping savoury bites, as well as young mulberry leaves and mint for herbal/medicinal tea blends. 🍃
This is the best time of year for lovely little green things, and I am so excited for when fruit season begins to yield it’s sweet harvest! 😸2 likesReply
vegpledge Wow that sounds fantastic!! I have loved getting into foraging and it’s exciting how much more there is to learn. My favourite thing is hunting for edible mushrooms - I used to think they were just in autumn but you can find them all throughout the year which I love ❤️🍄 1 likeReply
ahimsalivingwellness My partner is also quite keen on mushrooms, and even decided to try cultivating some this year (I believe that they are some type of oyster variety from the USA). He found some Turkey tails a few weeks ago whilst we were out harvesting wild garlic (which has been an ongoing theme since he’s using it to make Veganic pesto for local farmers markets) and has been talking about going out to look for St. George’s mushrooms for awhile.
He’s been doing this for ages and is quite knowledgeable about everything growing around the U.K., so the idea of leading wild vegan food harvesting hikes has been something we have also been discussing for awhile. If you’re ever in Essex, please feel free to reach out! 1 likeReply

NOMO

This was alright, but not the best #veganchocolatebar I’ve had. I didn’t really like the caramel and it was a bit pricy for what you get. I do really like #nomo as a brand though.

The default for this is vegan (with almond milk) which is nice. It looks a bit disgusting but that’s because it was handed to me sideways, so all the jam went everywhere. The jam was really nice, as was the almond butter, more

vegpledge Yeah tbh it was a bit of a waste of money as my homemade porridge is nicer, but I didn’t have any time to make breakfast that morning!1 likeReply

Slightly pricy but a good #snackbar ! I’ve never seen this type before and it was a nice mix of nutty and fruity flavours. It contained peanut butter, different seeds, freeze-dried fruit and some other things, but much fewer more

Tasted exactly like a Bakewell tart! :) Quite expensive and quite a few ingredients for what it is, but a tasty snack. A shame not all their products are vegan.

This was really nice! It tasted sweet and subtly of #chai, and I liked the pink colour. It was very refreshing, though maybe not as much as I’d hoped for the price.
