Roasted Vegetable Pasta Salad

I did a double take when I saw this on the shelf in M&S as my first thought was that the plant kitchen range had started incorporating dairy products! The feta in this recipe is incredibly realistic in terms of texture and appearance, however taste wise it is very mild and lacks the ‘tang’ of traditional feta. Overall a nice lunch option and a good portion size. At 462 calories a portion, it’s good to have a lighter pasta option a available in comparison to the no chicken no bacon pasta salad.

In all honesty I was completely full when I ordered this dish (I had just polished off their delicious vegan roast) but felt I had to order it because of the thought that had gone into a vegan dessert, which I find is often lacking in omnivorous restaurants (if there is one at all). This was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. I’m not sure what the cream was made from, I was expecting it to be very heavily coconut flavoured but it wasn’t at all and was very light. Correction: the name of the dish is ‘Elderflower and Raspberry Eton Mess’

I took a risk ordering these tacos as I’ve tried banana blossom before as a fish alternative in fish and chips, and I didn’t enjoy it. These, however, were delicious. The banana blossom works well when it’s fried in small pieces like this instead of whole. If I had to change one thing about the dish it would be to add in another taco, as there were three pieces of banana blossom to eat and only two tacos to eat them in, so it didn’t really fit. Didn’t affect the taste at all, just made an already ‘messy to eat’ dish even more difficult to eat! Would definitely order again but will try a bit more of the menu first.
