Really good chocolate protein cream with hazelnuts. Usually I put it as a spread on a slice of bread, but it's really not very sweet, so you can also just take a spoon and eat it like that 🤔😋

Even tho the menu said there was a firecracker sauce I didn't expect them to be as spicy as they came. Usually I am not very impressed by the spice levels on dishes, so I didn't expect much, but here I really liked it 😊

Unfortunately very disappointed from that place the waiter didn't know anything about the food and was unwilling to ask in the kitchen. The menu said there was vegan parmesan, but when bringing the food he gave me non vegan more

cloudyaquilegia I'm so sorry to hear that...the risotto actually looks delicious, but come on, why do waiters refuse to ask in the kitchen being that rude? I had some similar experience on a flight last week, and before that in a Restaurant in Columbus, where the waitress taking the order was really good and professional and knew her stuff, but the waiter who brought the food was kind of unprepared...I just wanted to know which plates he was bringing, he didn't get the question, so I asked which one was vegan and he literally pointed to a bread with gorgonzola and parmesan and to something else with yogurt on top telling me it was vegan (of course it wasn't...). I was at dinner with my colleagues and professors and I was so ashamed that I caused a mess asking, because then everyone was concerned for me and a asking things for me....I really didn't want to be in the spotlight.....2 likesReply

lukasser You should never be ashamed to as more than one time if something is vegan or not, if you don't get a clear answer the first time. If anything, the waiter should be ashamed if you have to ask more than once. I was with a non vegan friend, who came to Malta for a visit, he was shocked, from the answers I was receiving. There was garlic bread on the menu which was not fully labelled, so I asked if it was vegan. He said yes. When I am not 100% convinced with the answer I get, I usually go through, what could potentially make it non vegan, so I asked him if there was butter, and he said yes as well. Of course this is not like that everywhere, but unfortunately it is quite a common thing here in Malta, as minimum wage here is very low and many restaurants only pay their waiters minimum wage. It is a shame, as the restaurant itself has a super nice location and a nice view. Which is kind of the reason why they don't really give a shit, as people come anyway and they mainly live from tourism. So the mindset is "we don't have to provide good service". 2 likesReply

cloudyaquilegia That's so sad...I was once in Bern with a friend who is allergic to nuts...she wanted an icecream and asked if it was safe for her. The waiter said there are no nuts...there were...for us vegans it's not a matter of our life and death, but it still is important to know...you are so right, some restaurants should be ashamed of how they treat their employees and their customers....but, especially when it is a tourist place, they don't give a 💩2 likesReply

lukasser Yeah stuff like that should never happen, but it adds a whole new level of importance if there is an allergy involved. I hope your friend found out early enough that there was nuts, and didn't eat it 🫣

cloudyaquilegia Yes, she always is really suspicious, and with good reasons! Let's say I learned from the best 😀 I sometimes do the same. Even when I was just vegetarian, I didn't eat cheese when I was in a restaurant. It was so complicated to explain but as we speak of more than ten years ago it was also "bad" to simply ask a vegan option (speaking of being suspicious...), so it was easier to say I'm allergic ...1 likeReply
