I’m torn on what to say about this. I really didn’t like it, but I’ve tried a few different “roasts” and I haven’t liked any of them so I don’t want to be unfair.
The crispy outside was okay (I would suggest flipping it more
These are great - as others have said they are totally overpriced but you get so much extra “pork” and it freezes well, so if you’re one who normally has a bag of frozen L. McC. pork or duck, this will save you having to more
I LOVE these. Unfortunately it took me a while to work that out and in the meantime my Sainsbury’s stopped stocking them.
The thing is, they have that slightly wobbly fatty texture that’s quite common in fake meat and is more
This is tasty, weirdly it smelled meatier before I cooked it, so I was a little disappointed but it holds up very well.
It crisps up fantastically in the frying pan but be warned it will lose that and start going floppy more
Really good! The flavour is very subtle which means you can basically do whatever you want with it.
It doesn’t absorb flavour as well as other mock chickens so I think it needs to be with a sauce, but if that’s the trade more
First off, I should say that instead of defrosting it overnight I just tossed it in a saucepan frozen. But I was very impressed with the texture anyway, it was nicely chewy although i had to cook it alone on a high heat more
I’m undecided on these because the “crackling” was surprisingly realistic but I wasn’t impressed with the “meat” part. It’s hard to describe, it sort of fell apart in my mouth but then was surprisingly dense and hard to more
I love this stuff - I would love to see it as rashers but maybe it doesn’t work as I’ve never been keen on any of the fake rashers I’ve tried.
It’s very chewy (in a good way) and the thinner bits go crispy in the frying more
I was impressed with this. I’d compare the patty to Quorn nuggets but closer to chicken. The Mayo was creamy and not as vinegary as most plant based mayos.
I gave it 5* for presentation because it seems so unfair to factor more
