When my friend and I first got to Amsterdam, we happened to stop by Helin's Vegan Döner, and without knowing what we were getting ourselves into, we ordered a vegan kapsalon to share.

All week, despite being in one of the most beautiful cities in the world, all we could talk about was this vegan kapsalon. Kapsalon is a multiculturally inspired Dutch food that combines French fries with Dutch toppings, such as meat, cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, garlic sauce, and more. Helin's Döner offers a vegan version that I can only assume surpasses the 'original'.

Today, on our last day here, we returned to Helin's Döner, this time ordering a vegan kapsalon for each of us (while the other food we tried here was also delicious, it was the vegan kapsalon that stole our hearts, by capturing our taste buds). If you're looking for an authentic and delicious vegan version of this established Dutch delicacy, do not pass up on the opportunity to try Helin's Vegan kapsalon.

Pretty good nachos! Not the best vegan nachos out there but definitely better than most.

Not pictured but also eaten are the Reuben and coffee cake, both of which were fantastic.

Everything on the menu can be made vegan, it's only a tragedy that they're still hanging on to some vegetarian dishes.
