I bought a few bags of Terre di Puglia Taralli at No Frills. They were only $1.00 each which is half of what I had paid a months earlier for Tarallini (small taralli) by the same company. “Taralli” is an Italian snack that’s a wheat-based cracker similar in texture to grissini breadstick. I remember my mom used to make taralli when I was a kid, so this product has a lot of nostalgia for me.
The Al Peperoncino (Hot Chili Pepper) taste is fantastic, but it’s not as hot as I was expecting / hoping. I don’t know if chili peppers are a staple in Mediterranean cooking, but I’m sure it’s used often enough. These taralli are absolutely delicious. I’ll be buying several more bags of this for my parents and I’ll take a few bags with me to my sister’s place on Long Island when I visit her for Christmas. They will really appreciate these. Both my parents are from the province of Puglia, Italy, so these are a taste of home / the old country for them.
I’ll also be buying more for myself.
One serving is 3 pieces; good luck just eating 3 pieces. These are very addictive. One tiny serving will provide you with 8% of your daily recommended sodium intake. There’s no way I can eat just three.
