Just before crossing the Canada-US border in Windsor, Ontario last week, I stopped at A&W for lunch. The restaurant is located just down the street from the Ambassador Bridge, soon after getting off Highway 401. Although I did not eat my meal outside (I should have; it was a beautiful day), the restaurant offers an outdoor patio.
I thought I had read someplace that A&W had removed the Beyond Meat burger from its menu. Apparently it hasn’t taken place yet. I love the Beyond Meat burgers at A&W. The burgers deliciously simulate the taste and appearance of meat.
I don’t remember what condiments were on the burger, but it was topped with lettuce, tomato, red onion and pickles. Beyond Meat burgers are known for their high protein and iron content. And high sodium content too, unfortunately.
The Beyond Burger Combo (the burger, fries and a soft drink) was $14.99 plus tax ($16.94 total). I thought this price was pretty reasonable and would not hesitate to get it again.
