Okay, first of all these yellow noodles had no business being here in this plate of char kway teow from Lau Pat Sat. Then again the stall people might also say this plate of char kway teow had no business for anyone to #asktoveganise sans animal parts. Met with a ton of initial resistance from the cook who insisted that this dish couldn't be cooked without eggs because that would make it 'un-tasty', so I said please, please and please until he begrudgingly did. So he did go a bit overload with the dark soy sauce and the vegetable oil, plus added these thick noodles on top of the standard flat rice kway teow noodles but I ain't complaining about the beansprouts and spring onions. Overall result was impressive for what seems like this cook's first ever veganised char kway teow. Kid and I slurped it up. #kidapproved
