This bottle of Lemon Lime flavoured Sparkling Ice, along with a few other flavours, was an impromptu purchase at No Frills last year. Each bottle was $1. I had seen these before and was curious about their taste. I didn’t want to buy a traditional carbonated beverage, like a Coke product, but I wanted something at home as an alternative to water.

I brought this bottle to a family picnic and one of my younger cousins wanted to drink it (and very kindly offered me some). We both absolutely loved the taste of this lemon lime flavoured carbonated water. It’s very refreshing and would be a good mix to various alcohols, like whiskey / rye and vodka. It’s calorie-less. There are no nutritional benefits to this drink.

According to my 10 year old cousin, he says “It tastes like Sprite, but more lime-y. It’s very good.”

This beverage is sweetened with sucralose which I had never heard of. According to one website, “Sucralose is derived from sugar through a multi-step manufacturing process that selectively substitutes three atoms of chlorine for three hydroxyl groups on the sugar molecule. This change produces a sweetener that has no calories, yet is 600 times sweeter than sucrose.” And according to another website, “sucralose itself is considered vegan as it does not contain any animal-derived ingredients. It is synthesized in a laboratory and does not involve the use of animals in its production process.”

I would get this again.
