This is from the #holidayhaul of my trip last month to the UK, so we're going to have to judge this #onionchutney based on expectations adjusted for the UK 😏 It had zero spiciness, and spiciness is like the number one job I want a #chutney to do for me 😳 This one instead went all in on the caramelisation aspect of its promise, with a flavour profile that was at once sweet and fruity on the nose, and then acidic in the aftertaste. I had it as a complement to some South Indian vadai/cutlets (yeah, desperate times 😅) as well as to some nachos. In both cases it was passable but not outstanding.
