Soy Meat Okonomiyaki at Gion Tanto — fredpls's Review (May 13, 2025)

Non-vegan Okonomiyaki and Teppanyaki restaurant that has a couple vegan options on the menu.
We had the okonomiyaki with soy meat, which was good but nothing to write home about. The place has a cool vibe (you have your own stove at your table where you can cook your food / keep it warm), however the wait to get in was super long (more than 1h) since it is apparently very popular and in a lovely location in old Kyoto.
This is not really their fault but made our experience way worse. Personally I found it overhyped, food was indeed good but not worth the wait. I wouldn't recommend unless you're lucky enough to find a short line outside.
