This is the "Jackfruit Meat". Brazil has this fruit throughout its territory, but more often used as desert. This product uses the green fruit (not sweet enough to serve as desert), and shred it in a way that resembles to chicken. Although it has not the same amount of protein as animal meat (instead, has low levels protein), it can be used for meals to look similar.
It's made locally, owned by women and generates income for the community by purchasing fruits from all properties.
